Chords of Truth- Reflections of Reality, The Remixed Double LP -CD Review

Anderson, SC - What is round , has twenty six tracks ,a whole lot of emotion and is coupled with self realization ? The latest release from Chords of Truth . The South Carolina based folktronica act is the brain child of musician Jason Garriotte who does double duty as singer/songwriter as well as guitarist on this double LP . The album is called Reflections of Reality The Remixed Double LP with various and different versions of the tracks . The track “ Tune Your Mind “ makes you think of a club scene in a movie or book reminiscent of Stranger in a Strange Land type of vibe . The emotion of “ Listen “ reminds one of be careful what you for you may just get it as it relates to the pitfalls of society and the modern age . A cold truth of life is sung about in the song “ Moments “ with the line “ Every time we think we have it all figured out , we find that we were wrong from square one .“ Wow , this really makes you stop and think . “ When I Was Wasted “ is a song that just about anyone can relate to with a chilling background made more ominous with some great piano work . A techno beat follows the song “ The Power to Be Alive “ which go good into any rave or DJ House mix . The idea of doing the remixed CD was see if the original message of Reflections Of Reality would translate into new formats and I would have to say Jason knocked it out of the ball park with this one . The humorous song “ Pop or Soda “ makes you laugh with the funny lyrics but is offset by the serious tone of the music . On the track “ What Life Is All About “ has the great line “ We have a purpose to which to persevere ,so don’t miss good things being controlled by fear. “ This whole release is full of pleasant surprises with the many versions of the songs . In addition this talented musician also tours and is not just a confined to the studio as he wants to get his music out to the fans as well .
