‘Chopped’ competes 'Just For the Halibut' on Food Network

Last night's episode of "Chopped" gave four more chefs the opportunity to accept the challenge to compete for the $10,000 and the very elusive title of champion.

The judges for this episode are; Marc Murphy, Lee Ann Wong and Scott Conant The host, as always is Ted Allen.

Competing in this episode are; chef Jamie Adams, executive chef at "Veni, Vidi, Vici" in Atlanta, Ga., Stephan Bogardus, chef de cuisine at the "North Fork Table & Inn" in Long Island, N.Y., Anne Churchill, caterer and tour chef and executive chef Steve Benjamin, of "L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon" at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The first round appetizer mystery box contained; Black Radishes, Smoked Beef Tongue, Garbanzo Beans and Italian Anchovies. Anne made seared beef tongue with anchovy cream sauce using mirin, mustard and rice wine vinegar. Stephan made roasted beef tongue with anchovy & garbanzo ragout using carrots, celery and onion. Jamie made seared beef tongue with garbanzo beans using shallots, red peppers and balsamic vinegar. Steve made romaine salad with seared beef tongue using ricotta, shallots and mushrooms. The chef who did not make it to the next round was Anne.

The entree round contained; Halibut, Aquavit, Chinese Spinach and Mexican Chorizo. Steve made halibut stuffed with chorizo and roasted potatoes using sage, potatoes and yellow peppers. Stephan made grilled halibut with rice and sautéed spinach using rice, spinach and yellow peppers. Jamie made pan-roasted halibut with braised spinach & chorizo ragout using potatoes, anchovies and shallots. Stephan was the chef who was "Chopped" in this round.

The dessert round included; Banana Chips, Sugar Cane, Almond Butter and Umeboshi. Steve made Sable Breton with crème anglaise using eggs, flour and golden raisins. Jamie made bombolone using ricotta, flour and eggs.

The winner of the $10,000 and "Chopped" champion was Steve Benjamin.
