When it comes to choosing the right exercise and weight loss program it is important to understand that one size does not fit all.

Each individual is genetically predisposed to a certain combination of muscle fibers, biomechanics, and metabolism to some degree. Knowing this, the goals set forth in any exercise and weight loss program must be matched by the type of program that is appropriate for each individual.


Muscle Fibers- Each of us has a genetically predisposed makeup of white fast twitch fibers (strength and size), red fast twitch fibers (strength and stamina) and red slow twitch fibers (endurance). Resistance training should take into account your body type in order to maximize individual strengths and minimize individual weaknesses.


In addition, some of us are biomechanically more efficient for heavy loads, or athletic agility, running/jumping etc. The exercise and weight loss program should take these things into account for the purpose of designing a program that matches the body’s natural movement and position.


Finally, each person has a working metabolism.  Understanding the current metabolic rate and how to apply that information is a core component to the science of designing a cardio program that will quickly produce results.
