Cholesterol claims for Sytrinol upheld

Maintaining healthy cholesterol levels is important because people who have high blood cholesterol have a greater chance of getting coronary artery disease. The National Heart Lung and Blood Institute highlights that there are two kinds of lipoproteins that carry cholesterol throughout your body: low-density lipoproteins (LDL) and high-density lipoproteins (HDL). The higher the level of LDL cholesterol which is in your blood, the greater your chance is of getting heart disease. The higher the level of HDL cholesterol which is in your blood, the lower your chance is of getting heart disease. Due to concerns about side effects associated with drugs for cholesterol control people in Syracuse are always interested in natural remedies for cholesterol control.

Nutrition Horizon has reported "PNI Substantiates Sytrinol Cholesterol Claims." Proprietary Nutritionals Inc. (PNI) has satisfied the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus Claims (NAD) by supporting advertising claims for the company’s Sytrinol product. Sytrinol is a patented, proprietary formulation which is derived from natural citrus and palm fruit extracts, combining polymethoxylated citrus flavonoids (270 mg) with tocotrienols (30 mg). Sytrinol is manufactured by KGK Synergize and distributed by PNI.

The NAD has found that research on the Sytrinol’s ingredients provided a reasonable basis for the claims that the product provides “Antioxidant Benefits" and “Anti-Inflammatory Benefits." But, NAD recommended that the advertiser discontinue its claim that Sytrinol is a “powerful antioxidant." The NAD also found that the advertiser provided a reasonable basis for claims that Sytrinol is “safe," but has recommended that the advertiser discontinue claims that Sytrinol has been “proven to be safe." And finally, NAD recommended PNI discontinue certain comparisons to statin drug therapy. PNI has released a statement that the company “accepts NAD’s recommendations and will discontinue the remaining claims discussed in the decision."
