Smoothies are easy to make. They take little time, and can be nutrient packed when made using healthy ingredients. Fruit and protein sources, for example, add needed nutrients to a drink that is consumed as a snack or as an addition to breakfast.
A little baker's cocoa added to the ingredients will be a delightful treat once in a while.
10 ounces crushed pineapple with juice
6 ounces (about) canned coconut milk, be sure to shake the can well before opening
3 tablespoons unsweetened coconut flakes
1 tablespoon ground flax seed
1 tablespoon (or more) mint
1 raw egg
2 tablespoons baker's cocoa
- Dump the pineapple (with juice) and coconut milk into the blender.
- Add the remaining ingredients.
- Blend until combined.
- Use coupons to save money on ingredients.
- Add some mango or papaya to switch things up a bit.
- For breakfast, serve with an omelet.
