Chocolate smoothie

Smoothies are easy to make. They take little time, and can be nutrient packed when made using healthy ingredients. Fruit and protein sources, for example, add needed nutrients to a drink that is consumed as a snack or as an addition to breakfast.

A little baker's cocoa added to the ingredients will be a delightful treat once in a while.

Ingredients

10 ounces crushed pineapple with juice

6 ounces (about) canned coconut milk, be sure to shake the can well before opening

3 tablespoons unsweetened coconut flakes

1 tablespoon ground flax seed

1 tablespoon (or more) mint

1 raw egg

2 tablespoons baker's cocoa

  1. Dump the pineapple (with juice) and coconut milk into the blender.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients.
  3. Blend until combined.

Tips

  • Use coupons to save money on ingredients.
  • Add some mango or papaya to switch things up a bit.

Serving Suggestions

  • For breakfast, serve with an omelet.
