Today is Chocolate Milkshake Day.
According to Wikipedia, there are two different kinds of milkshakes, the hand-blended and the pre-made. In the 1880’s, milkshakes were an alcoholic whiskey and eggnog drink. They were sometimes used as a tonic and a treat. By the 1900’s the milkshake became a hand-shaken, wholesome drink we know today with chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla syrups, but it wasn’t until 1922 when the electric blender was used to make the milkshakes. From the 1950’s until our current day, we have been able to enjoy the ice cold, smooth, and rich milkshake treats. For some, there is a wish that it was still used as a tonic to cure an illness.
So let’s celebrate the day by having a chocolate milkshake.

Hey, Melody, great minds think alike. I mentioned Chocolate Milkshake Day in my article (Daily Romantic Ideas for September 2009 - Week 3), and was so excited to see YOUR article, I linked to it. Happy CM Day!
Wanted to add: why CAN'T milkshakes be used as a tonic!? It's classic comfort food.
