Chocolate shows up as an ingredient in many innovative and interesting items every day. There was the chocolate covered potato chip, chocolate flavored cigars, and now it has hit the toothpaste aisle—thanks to Crest.

The new flavor, Mint Chocolate Trek, is part of the Crest Be line, which also includes Lime Spearmint Zest and Vanilla Mint Spark.

On the website, the flavor is described as "a whole new world of deliciousness for toothbrushes everywhere."

According to ABC News, Proctor & Gamble (P&G) executives announced the bold new line in a conference call with investors and analysts on Monday morning, and it is scheduled to hit store shelves in February.

Although this is not the first time a company has tried to market chocolate toothpaste, it is a huge move for a powerhouse like P&G, the world's largest consumer-products company.

For the latest quarter, P&G reported a profit of $3.43 billion, and it is anticipating sweet victory with chocolate lovers across the nation with the new Crest Be line. Only time will tell.
