The chocolate-themed weekend is being held Friday, Saturday and Sunday (10 a.m. - 6 p.m.) in historic downtown Long Grove. Choco-holics delight in indulging in a number of sweet treats while experience live music set up in locations throughout the village. Entertainment will be at Fountain Square, Towner Green, Beans & Leaves Coffee and Cafe and the Lion's Den Stage. The schedule of entertainment is on the Chocolate Festival website.
In addition to chocolate and live music, the family-friendly festival features food and boutique shopping throughout the village.Children enjoy the kids' activities and new rides, games, obstacle courses, rock climbing and pony rides. The easy-going atmosphere makes for a relaxing weekend activity that kids and adults enjoy.
Admission to the Chocolate Festival is $5. In addition, $5 tasting tickets are available so visitors can sample the treats from partipating vendors. Tickets may be purchased at the Visitors’ Center, 308 Old McHenry Road, Long Grove, Ill.
Chocolate Fest is just one of the festivals held in Long Grove, which is a popular destination in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Upcoming festivals include the Strawberry Festival and the Apple Festival. There are also a number of smaller festivals held throughout the year. Even when there is no festival, visitors enjoy a leisurely walk through the cobblestone streets and squares while exploring charming shops.
Long Grove is located in the northwestern suburbs of Chicago, near the intersection of Rt. 53 and Lake-Cook Rd.
