Southwest Chocolate & Coffee Fest

How much Chocolate Pie can you eat for only five bucks? If your answer is a lot then you might want to plan on entering the Chocolate Pie Eating Contest at this weekend's Southwest Chocolate & Coffee Fest in the wonderful Duke City of Albuquerque, New Mexico. But, you can't use any utensils - or even your hands!

But, that's a hint of the fun coming up for this great family friendly event. Kid friendly because the little guys 12 and under get in free. And your tickets are only $10 each and, if you buy your ticket on line you'll get a great looking coffee mug for free.

If chocolate and coffee go together where does milk come into the picture. Chances are lots of the chocolate treats available will be milk chocolate so there will even be cow milking demonstrations. Be sure and ask a few questions. I think you'll be amazed at how much milk a single Holstein can deliver every day.

There will be baking contests but it may be too late to enter. You can check the website to see, but plan on going to the Fest to enjoy - leave the baking to your neighbor who entered a few weeks ago. It's too late to enter the photography contest, but you will be able to enjoy the photos at the event or online.

For only a dollar you will be able to buy a raffle ticket with some terrific prizes. Local culinary students will be competing in a chocolate sculpture competition and each of the entries will be raffled off to the lucky winners. Don't forget to buy your tickets and maybe win a chocolate treat.

There will be cooking demonstrations on the culinary stage and music and dance on the entertainment stage. Bounce houses, face painting and fun and games for the family in addition to the chocolate and coffee. Look at the list of vendors here and you're bound to find someone you won't want to miss. Chocolate, coffee, tea, wine, beer and frozen custard.

Go on line right now and get your tickets, enjoy the chocolate & coffee and . . . Keep on Traveling!
