Chiwetel Ejiofor, '12 Years A Slave' grab 2014 Golden Globe nods (see full list)

"12 Years a Slave" is once again taking the lead in award nominations. The film led the Best Drama category with seven Golden Globe nominations including nods for Best Drama best directing and screenwriting and acting nominations for Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender and Lupita Nyong’o. The riveting film seems to be gaining momentum for the impending Oscar race. The nominations were announced today, Dec. 12.

In addition to Chiwetel Ejiofor, the other Best Actor nominees are Idris Elba ("Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom"), Tom Hanks ("Captain Phillips"), Matthew McConaughey ("Dallas Buyers Club") and Robert Redford ("All Is Lost"). "American Hustle" matched topped the comedy category with 7 nominations including in four acting categories, directing and screenwriting.

On network television "Breaking Bad," "Downton Abbey," "The Goodwife," "House of Cards" and "Masters of Sex" were nominated for Best TV Series Drama. Kerry Washingtion got a nod for Best Actress for "Scandal."

The Golden Globes will be broadcast on Sunday, January 12 with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler co-hosting. The awards show will air on NBC.
