A Chipotle Scarecrow ad has blown people away this week, and the evil Crowbots in Chipotle’s “The Scarecrow” that threaten the world in a new Apple game have fallen to the ad’s moving food message. It is UPI.com that reports this Sunday, Sept 15, that the creative ad brings to light the importance of keeping healthy food available to the world, and will likely boost both Chipotle and mobile game sales in the near future.
The Chipotle Scarecrow video arrives at a time when Chipotle is more than ever working to prove itself as a “fast food” chain and restaurant business that highlights its promise to customers of healthy, responsible food gathering and distribution practices. The food giant’s most recent advertisement, called “The Scarecrow,” demonstrates this commitment in an eerie, powerful way with a strong message of the dangers that corporate factory farming poses to the U.S. public and its "downfall."
While Crowbots may be the fictional enemies here, they stand for a much deeper-rooted, potential problem: that of corporate factories quite literally polluting people’s food.
The ad itself is much more of a mini-movie than it is a simple eye-catcher. It features a beautiful stream of animation set to the rendition of the song “Pure Imagination” by Fiona Apple. Though called the Chipotle scarecrow ad, Chipotle is barely seen throughout, as it instead focuses on selling the new game for Apple devices coming out soon called “The Scarecrow.” But its messages on good food and the threat of the loss of such haunts the viewer, said one source.
The film itself takes audiences into an animated world where scarecrows have lost their old jobs of standing and protecting long fields where farmers grow natural food. Now, these dejected scarecrows work for the evil Crowbots, under the industrial Crow Foods regime in harsh factories.
The scarecrow cannot help but see how terrible food has become for people, as images of cows crammed into crates to keep them unwell and chickens filled with steroids and antibiotics are left sick and unhealthy. He resolves to fight these Crowbots, and setting itself up for the new “The Scarecrow” game via Apple, will work to take down these enemies in charge of the pollution-making factories, having Crow Foods fall to its knees.
What is your response to the Chipotle Scarecrow video? Do you believe this viral ad that is intended less for Chipotle chains and more for the upcoming Apple game rings a powerful chord and food message regarding healthy production in both aspects? Please drop in a comment below.
