Chip Kelly rumors are circulating nonstop that after coaching the University of Oregon through the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 3, he will take a job with the NFL. According to NFL.com on Jan. 2, the Ducks' coach is highly sought after by the Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns. Other reports have linked interest in him from Jacksonville as well.
Kelly is shrugging off rumors, OregonLive has published.
"I'm coaching the Fiesta Bowl," Kelly said last week, according to OregonLive. "That's where my sole attention is. That's all I've ever said I plan to do. That's what I'm doing. I'm going to coach this team. That's it."
The Ducks coach tells reporters the gossip and speculation gives them a job.
"It gives you guys stuff to write about," he said. "I think you're entertained by it. Because I don't read it, it doesn't mean anything to me."
Kelly claims he likes where he's at.
"My job is to coach the University of Oregon football team and I love doing it," he said. "And that's what I'm going to do."
Chip Kelly insists the Oregon Ducks are where he'll remain in his career, but with such tempting offers coming from the NFL, will he accept?
