The latest side project from Deftones frontman Chino Moreno, ††† (Crosses) features long-time collaborator and friend Shawn Lopez on Guitar and Keys, The aptly named Chuck Doom on bass, and bay area drummer Dino Campanella on sticks.

Any self-respecting bay area music lover should already know about Chino Moreno’s wide range of musical tastes. In addition to his work with Deftones, he has also had a collection of side projects including Team Sleep, and Palms (with former members of ISIS). ††† (Crosses), seems to be a new outlet for Chino to unleash his more upbeat side. Even with their dark esthetic and font selection, ††† (Crosses) is more about praise and joy

Working the crowd over with sexy RnB rhythms and siren like vocals was JMSN (pronounced Jamison). One audience member commented on the Jesus like appearance of the frontman, and he quickly replied back with a Lebowskiesque, "Dude, Jesus didn't wear shorts... I don't even think shorts where around back then man".

For anyone that has seen Chino pour his soul out on stage during a Deftones show, they might have been confused when the light footed Moreno, danced around stage with levels of glee un-seen on many rock frontmen. With a bounce in each step and a Thank You after each song, Chino and ††† (Crosses) took 'Angry Dance Music' to exciting new levels.

Catch Crosses on tour throughout April, and at this months Coachella Music Festival.
