Chinmaya Boston doubleheader brings acclaimed artists from India

Carnatic vocalist Sanjay Subrahmanyan and Kathak exponent Yogini Gandhi headline Chinmaya Mission Boston's doubleheader weekend on May 3 and May 4. Carnatic musician Sanjay Subrahmanyan kicks off the busy weekend at Chinmaya Boston with his concert on Saturday, May 3, at 5 p.m. Kathak and Odissi dancer Yogini Gandhi will present her concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 4.

With this event, Chinmaya Boston continues its annual tradition of bringing well-known classical music and dance performers from India during the spring season. Mr. Subrahmanyan and Ms. Gandhi are both award-winning artists in their respective fields. A respected vocalist, Mr. Subrahmanyan received the Kalaimamani award from the Government of Tamil Nadu in 2006. Recipient of the Singaar Mani award from Sur Singar Samsad, Mumbai, Ms. Gandhi has trained under legendary gurus Pt. Birju Maharaj and Kelucharan Mohapatra.
