Kevin Bronson of Buzzbands.la curates the LA Weekly Live Music Stage with an exciting line-up. Wet & Reckless kick things off at 6 p.m. Black Apples get fruity at 7 p.m. The Afternoons go on at eight at night. Francisco the Man is up at 9 p.m., followed by Madi Diaz at 10 p.m. And, the Eastern Conference Champions play a million miles an hour in the 11 p.m. slot.
The KCRW Main Stage features cultural entertainment from 5:30-7:45 p.m. KCRW's own Liza Richardson rocks the place down at 8 p.m. Jason Bentley keeps the party going at 10 p.m.
A variety of artisans get creative in the West Plaza from 5-9:30 p.m. Check out the brush painting by Nori Shirasu, calligraphy by Guojian Cui, candy sculpture by Shinobu Ichiyanagi, clay sculpture by Keluo Xu, dough sculpture by Chris Lee, face painting by Tailing Wong, and fruit carving by Thai Health & Info.
Participate in The Big Draw LA, a drawing activity, which invites everyone to make art. For other creative fare, try the family workshop hosted by the USC Asia Pacific Museum from 5-8 p.m. If cooking is more your style, hit the culinary stage hosted by Lindsay Louie and Shirley Zhang. Confirmed guests include Jet Tila from Iron Chef American and Cutthroat Kitchen as well as Starry Kitchen's Nguyen Tran.
Snap some pictures with vintage cutouts circa 1940 in the photo booth in the Central Plaza from 6-10 p.m. A Capuchin monkey might approach you in the plaza between 6 and 9 p.m., but please don't touch or pet him.
Purchase libations in the Craft Beer Garden curated by Eagle Rock Brewery from 5 p.m. to midnight. Plenty of food trucks will be on hand to satiate your hunger, or duck into a Chinese restaurant -- it is Chinatown!
