Horse Hollow Wind Farm in Texas
The U.S Renewable Energy Group and Cielo Wind Power LP announced today that they have entered into a joint venture with China’s Shenyang Power Group to develop a 600 MW wind farm in Texas.
“The 600 MW wind farm project, if completed according to plan, would demonstrate for the first time Chinese capital and manufacturing and engineering expertise exported to the United States – the world’s largest wind power country – and how the two countries can share both the risk and the benefits in a huge wind power project”, said the city of Shenyang Vice Mayor Yang Yazhou.
According to the agreement, commercial banks in China are expected to finance the $1.5 billion project through Shenyang Power Group (SPG). The SPG is a local power industry alliance formed earlier this year under the leadership of A-Power, China’s leading provider of distributed power generation systems and a fast-growing manufacturer of wind turbines.
A-Power will supply the 240 wind turbines needed to run the new facility.

Well, that's just great. I am a member of T. Boone's wind project(s) and I think it's/they're great, but this isn't like them.
This one is sending money overseas just like buying oil from overseas. Only difference is it's clean energy. Not only that, the American taxpayer is going to foot the bill for the infrastructure to get this power to the consumer, just like they will do/are doing, for American owned projects, so where's the gain? Actually, I see it as a loss if it causes a loss of infrastructure usage (lack of availability) for American companies.
