China's smog crisis is shocking. According to Scientific American on Oct. 21, things are so bad that they are closing down airports, towns, and even schools. It is making it hard to travel in and out of China at all right now. As you can see in the picture and video on this page, things are really bad.
If the level of smog is over 300 then it is considered dangerous. It is actually as large as 1000 in some places. This figure is for the particulate matter with a diameter of 2.5 micrometers.
Because of the smog, all classes have been canceled at primary and middle schools. It also shut down the airport and some of the public bus routes in the area. At this time, the smog is still ongoing and they are hoping that it will lift soon, but they do not know when to expect this to happen.
Hopefully China will find a way to fix their smog issues. They have talked about ways to improve it, but obviously nothing has happened yet.
