China's new flaming facials promise younger skin by setting the face on fire

There's a crazy, new facial trend called Huǒ liáo that is taking over beauty salons and spa's in China. The service promises to make a person’s skin look younger, and minimize wrinkles, by literally setting the face on fire.

The Huǒ liáo, better known as the "fire facial," is based on ancient Chinese medicine. The flaming process involves placing a towel soaked in alcohol and a special "elixir" mixture on the face, legs or other parts of the body, then setting the treated area on fire for a few seconds.

The idea behind this burning, beauty treatment is to stimulate cell regeneration, relax muscles, and address dullness, sagging and wrinkles. Some even go as far as to claim its purpose is to cure obesity, and the common cold.

Sure, it all may sound unbelievable, but just take a look at the video provided below to see how real the "fire facial" is.
