Chilly Willy Day 2013 set for this Saturday

Lake George Community Comes Together (LGCCT) is sponsoring a day of snow tubing, tug-of-war, dodge ball and other outdoor games this Saturday, Feb. 2, 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. This is the 10th year for Chilly Willy Day, which is held at Battlefield Park on Beach Road in the Village of Lake George. Admission is free. Food, drinks and goodies will be available for purchase.

LGCCT is an organization of volunteers that work to provide substance-free activities for Lake George youth. The group was formed in 2003 when Warren County District Attorney Kate Hogan brought the idea of youth-based community groups to Warren County towns. Hogan, who regularly sees disenfranchised youth in the Warren County court, envisioned these organizations in each town as a way for children to engage with their community.

Every year the group creates and distributes the painted snowmen that greet visitors along the Village streets during the winter months. Last year’s Chilly Willy Day was well attended by students from both the elementary and the high school.
