Chilly and brisk with a mix of sun and clouds, significant storm for early week (Photos)

A clipper system and associated arctic frontal boundary will exit the region this morning as high pressure builds in for tonight into Monday. A complex storm system will then approach by late Monday into Tuesday with snow changing to a wintry mix, and some significant snow accumulations possible for most of the region. Winter storm watches may be issued by the National Weather Service later today to cover this threat.

Today – Partly sunny and breezy. High 31-35. Winds northwest between 10 and 15 mph, gusting up to 30 mph.

Tonight – Mostly clear and cold. Low 12-16. Winds northwest between 5 and 10 mph.

Monday – Partly sunny with increasing clouds and a chance snow in the late afternoon. High 35-39. Winds southeast between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of snow 30 percent.

High pressure will build into the region today with a mix of sun and clouds and chilly temperatures.
