Atlanta’s Dawn Foster left a career in marketing in 2009 to start her own gourmet foods business, importing Chilean agricultural products with the help of five other female entrepreneurs.
With a passion for fine gourmet foods and her interest in Chile, which she visited in 2001, Dawn Foster started Foster Fine Foods LLC offering fine extra virgin olive oils of the Spanish olives Arbequina (smooth, nutty flavor) and Picual (peppery with a tickle to the back of throat) varieties from the Maule Valley in Chile.
Foster Fine Foods’s gourmet grade jams and chutneys and jams include rosehip, pear in Merlot wine and onion jam in Merlot wine. Currently Foster Fine Foods is offering these delicious gourmet chutneys including Myrtleberry with Merken and Fig with Merken chutneys, produced by Patricia Martini’s small company Huerto Azul in Villarrica, Chile.
In Chile, Martini makes traditional jams, marmalades, fruit juices, sauces, chocolates and artisinal ice cream for her five shops in the southern part of Chile.
Foster is the exclusive American importer of these olive oils, which have been produced on the central Chilean Las Doscientas estate, where the olives are hand picked and pressed immediately to maintain freshness.
Foster’s unique offerings and hard work have paid off as they are now selling to 29 states as well as Washington D.C. and Barbados. You can buy their products on their website, amazon.com and LaTienda.com.
In Atlanta, Foster Fine Foods of Atlanta can be found at all ten locations of The Fresh Market as well as Bella Cucina, Sevananda and Star Provisions. To find out more about their company and products and retail locations visit fosterfinefoods.com.
