‘Childrens Hospital’ season three will feature big developments for Rob Huebel

Rob Huebel has certainly been making the rounds these days. Guest spots on Happy Endings, Traffic Light, and Modern Family have all helped his star rise to more mainstream fame, but his off-the-wall sense of comedy still remains and can be seen in Childrens Hospital once again when its third season premieres on Adult Swim at midnight.

This season in Childrens Hospital Huebel’s Dr. Owen Maestro will be at a crossroads. The wife no one ever knew he had (played by superstar Alicia Silverstone) will come to the hospital with some big news. No, she’s not having a secret baby. Well, not exactly. There is a baby, but it’s already been born, and Owen knows about it. Unfortunately it’s not going to be a “happily ever after” moment for the family.

"They have a baby with a very, uh, House-like mystery disease," series executive producer and star Rob Corddry previewed for LA TV Insider Examiner during a set visit in Los Angeles.

"Owen has to figure out what the disease is, or his baby will die."

And if you think that sounds tense, just wait until you hear some of the other things the third season of Childrens Hospital has in store for Owen, including a visit from dear old pops (played by Stephen Root) and a return from his old partner on the police force (played by superstar in his own right, Nick Offerman). This return is just as potentially fatal, as he has to go undercover in the scariest ward of the hospital in order to find the world’s most dangerous kid. Let’s just say if his mustache doesn’t give him away, his penchant for sixties music knowledge might. And it might also get him killed.

“I really feel like this season we upped our game a little bit more…because we know where we’re going and what we’re doing with our characters and who we are,” Huebel’s co-star Akerman pointed out.
