The Children's Theatre of Charlotte starts 2010 with a bang, announcing two special events in January in addition to the continuation of their season with Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, starting at the end of the month.
The Omimeo Mime Theatre will present “Black Light Magic” from Jan. 15-17. "Charlotte’s premier mime ensemble" mixes black light illusions, mime and comedy to create an "amazing display of visual artistry" (according to show promoters.) Of note, this show typically sells out and the only performance time available is Sunday, January 17 at 4pm. The show is recommended for ages 5+ .
On Jan. 29-31 the Grey Seal Puppets perform a whimsical version of “The Emperor’s New Clothes.” Of note, during these performances the Grey Seal Puppets are asking for clothing donations to benefit Crisis Assistance Ministries. For ages 3+/Grades PreK+

Of note, the Children's Theatre also presents Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing from Jan. 22-Feb. 14. at the McColl Family Theatre at Imaginon. The play is based on the famous book by Judy Blume and tells stories of Peter Hatcher and his little brother Fudge. There will be tales of sibling mischief, birthday parties and playground adventures. Tickets prices are Front Orchestra $24.00, General Section $18.00
