The Pyramid Players return to Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre playhouse with a rousing tale of the high seas with the presentation of How I Became a Pirate opening on February 14, 2014. This show is based on the delightful children’s book by Melinda Long of the same name.
The story follows the adventures of young Jeremy Jacob after he is recruited by Captain Braid Beard and his crew. It seems that Captain Braid Beard and his mates need help in finding the perfect place to bury pirate treasure. Join Jeremy as he learns the way of the pirate as well as finding that perfect treasure burying spot.
Long time Beef and Boards favorites present the play. Eddie Curry directs, Kristy Templet provides the music, Deb Wims choreographs and Jeff Stockberger is the stage manager.
This production is the first in the 2014 series of Live Theatre for Kids at Beef and Boards. The shows are an hour in length and are presented without an intermission. While suitable for all ages, the performances are tailored for kids in preschool through the sixth grade.
One of the great features of the Live Theatre for Kids series is the opportunity for the audience to interact with the cast after the show. Opportunities for autographs, photos, and discussion of the theater are an added bonus not often available to children interested in the theater.
How I Became a Pirate runs from February 14 through March 15 on most Fridays at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on most Saturdays. Reasonably priced tickets with discounts available for groups make this kids’ theater a great opportunity for the budget minded parent or grandparent.
