Children’s Mercy named top adoption-friendly workplace

Recently the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption released its fourth annual list of top adoption-friendly companies in America, and Children’s Mercy Hospitals & Clinics received the number two ranking in the health care industry category. By recognizing companies who support adoption as a way to help employees build their families, the Foundation’s annual list helps to bring awareness to the needs of the more than 114,000 children currently residing in foster care homes throughout the country.

Honorees for the annual list include the top 100, top ten by size, and top five in each industry.

Kansas City’s Children’s Mercy Hospitals & Clinics also received an overall ranking of 80 on the Foundation’s list of top 100 adoption-friendly workplaces. Children’s Mercy offers its employees a maximum reimbursement of $5,000 on adoption expenses along with a paid leave of absence of up to five weeks.
