The 13th Annual Children’s Literacy Festival and Healthy Habits Expo will be held this Saturday, October 19, 2013 on the HACC main campus. Taking place in the Cooper Building from 10 am until 2 pm everything is free! The parking is free but word to the wise – this is a popular event- come early if you’d like a spot close by.
In addition to everything else, the first 200 children to arrive will receive free books! There will also be a Children’s Fun Fitness Challenge and kids can play a little soccer, football, basketball, gymnastics, baseball, go through tunnels and jump rope. Zumba Atomic will also be there.
After working out it’s good to know that free, healthy snacks for the kids will be available.
At various tables kids will get to do a variety of arts and crafts as well as play games. Celebrity readers will be on hand to share some of their favorite stories as well. Superreader, aka Floyd Stokes, will be there – always a favorite of the kids. Parents don’t forget to bring your cameras (or your camera phones) so you can get some shots of your little ones running around and having fun.
