Children's Gasparilla Extravaganza

Argh Matey! It's that time of year again when Ye Pirates take over Tampa.

The Pirates first mission will be to throw a one of a kind invasion for the little Pirates of the family on Saturday, January 18, 2014.

The Air Invasion will take place from 3:00pm until 3:30pm as the United States Special Operation Jump Team--The Para-Commandos fly toward Bay Shore Boulevard.

After the Air Invasion the Children's Gasparilla Parade will take place from 3:30pm until 6:00pm. The parade will include over 100 floats including marching bands, local organizations, schools and of course the Krewes of Gasparilla.

The Parade route will begin at Bay to Bay Boulevard and Bayshore Boulevard and then proceed northward on Bayshore Boulevard and then conclude at Watrous/ Orleans Avenues and Bayshore Boulevard.

But, the fun isn't over just yet! The Gasparilla "Piratechnic" Extravaganza will then take place at 7:00pm as fireworks light up the sky over the Hillsborough Bay. Bayshore Boulevard will be equipped with sound so guests can enjoy a choreographed fireworks display.

While the Gasparilla events are totally FREE, guests who wish to sit in reserved bleacher seating may do so for an additional fee. These seats can be purchased online. There will also be a parking shuttle that will depart from the Fort Brooke Garage. Each adults will be charged $5 to ride the shuttle and accompanying children will be FREE.

The Gasparilla Children's Parade is an alcohol -free event and all alcoholic beverages are prohibited from the parade route.
