Annie Patnaude, deputy director of the Michigan chapter of the conservative Americans for Prosperity, posted a picture of a death wish aimed at her two young children that she reportedly received in the mail, Twitchy said Saturday.
“If we are lucky, your kids will die before you do. But if not, you can be assured they can get jobs at Walmart and McDonalds,” the letter said.
The letter was apparently sent in response to a statement attributed to her by a local Detroit paper that published the reaction of state leaders to Michigan's right to work law.
”We are really excited and energized, and we want to stand in solidarity with the courageous lawmakers," she said. "I have an 8-month-old and a 2-year-old, and I want them to be able to grow up in Michigan and find a job."
"New tone, same as the old," Twitchy said.
"Intimidation and threats to my children have no place in rational political discourse," Patnaude said in her tweet.
"And where are all those jerks who claim 'children are off limits?' Where is their outrage now when there is an actual threat?" asked a commenter at Twitchy.
"Their kids are off limits, ours are fair game," one person responded.
Attacks targeting children of conservatives are nothing new.
On Friday, for example, we reported that the children of NRA president David Keene were targeted for death on Facebook.
"My son, who has the same name as I do, had someone post a death threat on his Facebook page," Keene told talk show host Ernest Istook.
When his son said they had targeted the wrong person, "they came back and said, 'well, now that we know you're their children, we wish you'd be killed,'" Keene added.
Last May, we reported that Melaleuca CEO Frank VanderSloot told Fox News' Greta van Susteren that his children were harassed by allies of the Obama campaign with phone calls demanding interviews. VanderSloot became a target of the Obama campaign after he donated $1 million to Romney's Super PAC.
