A big part of children's health and fitness is what they eat. The make and eat children's cook book "Vegetarian Food" by Susannah Blake is a wonderful introduction for children to vegetarian cooking. The book includes eight recipes with not only step by step instructions but also clear photographs by Andy Crawford.
The recipes start with easy cooking techniques such as chopping and mashing and progress to more complicated techniques that may require adult supervision or assistance. "Vegetarian Food" also includes a panel with information on each recipe such as the history or cooking technique used for the recipe.
I would have liked to have seen a little more information included in this book such as nutritional facts but for a simple introduction to vegetarian cooking "Vegetarian Food" fits the bill.
