One survey says childless men are depressed because they don't have kids. This poll was taken by Robin Hadley and presented to the British Sociological Association after which time its topic began trending on April 7.
According to Yahoo! News, Hadley, who is affiliated with Keele University, there is little research done on the desire to father.
However, her survey of just 27 men and 81 women who don't currently have children showed that the males in this study were likelier to suffer more jealousy than woman over "other parents." The qualified poll-taker also said these guys where "sad, angry, and depressed over not having kids."
Hadley's survey that shows childless men tend to be depressed was done online through a questionnaire given to adults. Their ages ranged from 20 to 66, with the average being 41. Most typical of this group was that those polled had three things in common: The majority were Caucasian, the majority enjoy full time employment, and the majority consider themselves to be heterosexual.
Of those who this researcher approached, half the men "who did not have children said they felt isolated, compared with just over a quarter of the women," according to MSN via PTI.
And so, although this may be surprising since it seems that typically it is women who have shown these symptoms, childless men depressed about not having kids is a real problem, according to a new British survey. With that in mind, more is bound to be studied on this topic as a result.
