Child drowned in Winooski River

On Saturday, Kaylynn Small, 12, of Springfield, Mass., was reported missing while swimming in the Winooski River.

At approximately 5:17 p.m., an emergency call was received that Kaylynn had disappeared while swimming between the Salman Hole and the blue bridge.

Members of the Vermont State Police scuba team and Colchester technical rescue immediately searched the area upon arrival Saturday evening. Kaylynn's body was found Sunday morning between Salmon Hole and the blue bridge.

The Winooski Police Department are investigating Kaylynn's death, but at this time, police have no evidence of foul play.
