Tiny Tim is a six-and-a-half-pound chihuahua rescued from a hoarding situation in February at the Napier Log Cabin Horse and Animal Sanctuary with 250 other dogs. Rescued by Canine Castaways, a volunteer rescue organization that uses foster homes to care and transition rescue pets into adoptive homes, Tiny Tim ran away earlier last month when he was scared by thunder.
Volunteers have posted signs, sent out search teams, and continue to comb the wooded area near the Panther Ridge neighborhood in east Manatee County.
A Facebook page called Tiny Tim is Missing is asking anyone who lives in the area to keep their eyes open. Dogs on the run will commonly sleep during the day and then search for food at night. A heartbreaking Facebook post stated:
"Tiny Tim is not just a dog. He is a Canine Castaways' family member. He is very loved and missed. His life has been living hell before he was rescued; this should be his time to learn what love is, to hang out with his friends. We are moving heaven and earth to find him, and we won't give up. Tiny Tim had to fight for his life for so long now is our time to fight for him."
In February, the Manatee Sheriff's Office, the State Attorney's Office, Department of Agriculture and other legal organizations descended upon Napier's Log Cabin Horse and Animal Sanctuary located at 20010 East State Road in Manatee County with a search warrant and removed over 300 animals on the premises; authorities reported 250 dogs, 60 to 80 cats, and 10 horses, goats, and chickens.
There have been no signs of Tiny Tim. The little dog was wearing a black collar with a white design and a metal tag. He does have a microchip. A $500 reward is being offered for the dog's safe return.
Tiny Tim is extremely timid, and it is requested should someone find him that they do not approach the dog. Please call (678) 446-8493, take a photo and stay with him until help arrives.
At 5:00 Wednesday, a volunteer search has again been organized. Please meet at Walgreens on SR70 and Lorraine Road.

The pint sized, underweight pooch spent months at the veterinarian hospital while being treated for mange, ear mites and other afflictions caused by egregious neglect.
