Chihuahua race set for Saturday in Hillsboro

The 4th annual Chihuahua Race, sponsored by Tractor Supply, will be held at the Outlets at Hillsboro from noon until 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 7. Space is limited to the first 150 dogs that register. The registration fee is $10 and those paying a $15 will receive a commemorative T-shirt.

The race officially starts at 2 p.m., and $500 in prizes will be awarded. All funds raised will go the Hill County Paw Pals, a tax-exempt organization that aims to help animals and control pet overpopulation. Pets in costumes are invited to attended and will be recognized for originally and creativity. To register your racing pooch, go to outletsathillsboro.com. Contestants must have all necessary canine vaccinations, be free of contagious diseases, be in good physical condition and non-aggressive.

Directions: From Dallas/Fort Worth, take I-35 south.  After I-35 east/west merge, exit 368B or 368A and turn left toward the Outlets of Hillsboro.
