ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that former Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress is in Kansas City today interviewing with his former boss, new KC Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.
Schefter says that Childress, 56, could be hired as the next Chiefs offensive coordinator – a job he once held with Reid and the Philadelphia Eagles from 2002 to 2005, or as a special advisor to Reid.
Adam Teicher (@adamteicher), the Chiefs beat writer for the Kansas City Star, has tweeted that he doesn’t believe Childress will be hired as the O-coordinator, but for another position.
Teicher also says that former Cleveland Browns head coach, Pat Shurmur, another former assistant under Reid will probably not be coming to Kansas City as the offensive coordinator as has been speculated since Reid was hired by the Chiefs last Friday.
