Illinois has some very strict laws about underage people having sex, even if the two are consensual. On Jan. 21 Hollywood Life reports that for one Chicago rapper, Chief Keef, this law is coming to bite him in the butt as he is being sued for child support by a middle school girl that he had a baby with.
Chief Keef, born Kieth Cozart, impregnated the girl in 2011 when he was only 15 years old. The girl, whose name isn't given, is still in middle school so she couldn't have been in any grade higher than sixth grade. In Chicago, where both these kids live, it is a misdemeanor to have sex underage. The girl's parents have not filed any sex abuse charges, so it is likely that he won't be charged. The maximum punishment, if the girl's parents were to push the issue, would be up to a year in jail and to be forced to register as a sex offender for 10 years.
The young rapper, who has worked with Kanye West, Young Jeezy, and Rick Ross. The girl who is still underage, likely not even old enough to get a job, is suing for child support, health insurance, and other medical expenses. None of this sounds like an unreasonable request because any responsible parent would gladly take on the charges.
