Here are some easy appetizer recipes to make for your next game day or Super Bowl party with friends.
To prepare the chicken begin both recipes the same way.
This inspiration came from Alton Brown with his Foodnetowork.com Buffalo wing recipe.
These wings were bought at the local Price Chopper in a four pound package which was the most economical choice.
If they are not being cooked all at once or a variety of seasonings or methods are being used, they freeze well in Ziploc gallon freezer bags.
Per each pound of Buffalo wings, rinse the chicken pieces and pat dry.
To par cook, microwave in bowl covered with wax paper for 60 seconds.
Then turnover and microwave for another 60 seconds.
Lay the wings on a cooling rack over a sheet pan lined with paper towels in the refrigerator for one hour.
Now, put the chicken on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake at 425 F for 20 minutes.
Turnover and bake for another 15 - 20 minutes.
While appetizers are in the oven, prepare the Buffalo sauce.
Melt butter 3 tablespoons butter with 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 2 tablespoons Chinese hot sauce.
This is to taste, add more or less of the seasoning as desired.
Remove wings from the oven and put in large bowl.
Toss chicken wings with Buffalo sauce till well combined. Serve wings warm with blue cheese dressing and celery sticks.
