STRAATMANN FEED ANNOUNCES 2010 CHICK DAYS
Chicken Whisperer to Visit West St. Louis Area to Share Poultry Raising Secrets
St. Louis, MO (March 15, 2010) – Straatmann Feed is pleased to announce 2010 Chick Days, providing poultry raising resources to West St. Louis County area communities. The popularity of raising poultry in both farms and urban backyards is sweeping the nation and providing chicken owners with healthier meat and eggs, homegrown food and fun pets. As part of their Chick Days, Straatmann Feed is hosting the Chicken Whisperer on Tuesday, March 23, 2010. Andy Schneider, a.k.a. "The Chicken Whisperer" who is also a Purina Poultry Ambassador, will be conducting a Poultry Owner's Workshop from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Odessy Banquet Hall located at 552 Villa West Drive, Villa Ridge, MO 63055. The event is for all ages and free to the public. Straatmann Feed will have fun activities for the whole family.
“Farm families have known the joys of raising their own poultry for years, but people everywhere are beginning to realize the many benefits of raising poultry, even if it’s right in their backyards,” said Kelly Maxey of Straatmann Feed. “We are excited to help families get started with their own flocks, so they too can participate in the chicken raising trend.”
Throughout the duration of Chick Days, Straatmann Feed will have experts available to offer advice and guidance on how to raise chickens from freshly hatched chicks through laying, including details on proper nutrition to provide the best eggs. Chicken raising experts can learn new tips and beginners will learn the basics of starting their flocks.
“Last year’s Chick Day was a success. We’re excited to introduce another round of people to raising their own poultry,” added Kelly Maxey.
