Within the last few years Italian-style bread crumbs has come to the forefront of ingredients for many recipes. These crumbs are mixed with a seasoning that melds so well with chicken, pasta, and other foods that it’s hard to remember a time when bread crumbs were just plain. Progresso makes a wonderful Italian-style bread crumb and they’re available in more grocery stores.

Sour cream not only gives a great taste to chicken, but it tenderizes it at the same time. Add to this the lemon juice and garlic, and the flavors blend to make this chicken recipe amazing.

Best Baked Chicken Recipe

Ingredients for Best Baked Chicken:

  • 8 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • 2 cups Italian-style bread crumbs
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted

Directions for Best Baked Chicken:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Put the crumbs in another bowl.

Dip each piece of chicken first in the sour cream mixture, then roll in the bread crumbs. Place in a single layer in the bottom of a lightly-greased large baking dish with sides. Drizzle with the melted butter.

Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
