Chicken nugget recall: 75,320 lbs of chicken nuggets recalled by Tyson Foods

A chicken nugget recall has been put into effect by Tyson Foods after "small pieces of plastic" were reportedly found inside the meat. On April 5, USA Today reported that over 75,000 pounds of meat has been recalled from Sam's Clubs nationwide. A few people have consumed the plastic pieces, some even needing dental work done afterward.

"The Agriculture Department (USDA) said the small pieces of plastic were traced to a product scraper inside a blending machine. The company has received reports of minor oral injury associated with consumption of the nuggets," reports USA Today.

The chicken nugget recall includes 5-lb bags of frozen nuggets sold at Sam's Club. If you believe that the bag of chicken you purchased could be included in the recall you should bring it back to where you purchased it for a refund or an exchange.

You should not eat any food that has been recalled and everyone should check their frozen chicken nugget bags before cooking. While consuming these chicken nuggets might not make you sick, consuming plastic isn't advised and it is better to be safe than sorry. Check out the video above for more information.
