Maybe you haven't heard yet, but Burger King Chicken Fries are officially back as of today (August 11), however, they're only going to be around for a limited time much to the disappointment of their fans. If you've never had them, they're exactly what they sound like – chicken nuggets in the shape of french fries.
So if chicken nuggets already exist at the chain, what's the big deal about Chicken Fries? Maybe it's the different shape or the novelty of it, but I have to admit that I, too, would order them over chicken nuggets.
The popular restaurant chain announced the big news, and people on Twitter have been going crazy with excitement. On August 10, Burger King tweeted “Tell bae. 8/11. #Chickenfriesareback” along with a photo of a text sharing the news, and so far it's been retweeted 4,708 times and favorited 3,389 times. Expect several more Chicken Fries related tweets from them throughout the day.
The #Chickenfriesareback hastag has been going strong on Twitter thanks to Burger King and their fans, and while the profile @TheChickenFries (“real name” #chickenfriesareback) isn't affiliated with Burger King, it currently has 694 followers. Clearly the person behind the page has a passion for the product as they even have a matching Tumblr page. Chicken Fries have been missed so dearly there's even a "Bring Back Burger King's Chicken Fries" Facebook page, which has been liked 2,318 times to date. Let's hear it for devotion!
Chicken Fries aren't particularly healthy for you as you may have guessed. For a serving size of 9 pieces, you'll consume 390 calories, 23 grams of fat, 980 mg of sodium, and 26 grams of carbohydrates, but at least there's 18 grams of protein.
If you're planning on going to Burger King today to pick up some Chicken Fries, you may want to wait a day or two as there's likely going to be some long lines (longer than usual). However, the quest isn't over yet if you don't want to wait. Burger King DELIVERS in some locations. If you're in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Utah, or Virgina, head over to the “Delivery Areas” of the Burger King website to see if they can bring Chicken Fries right to your door.
So let's hear it! Are you excited that Chicken Fries are back at Burger King?
