Adobo is a Filipino dish that is served with white rice. You can make this recipe with chicken or pork. This is a dish often seen at our family gatherings!
Chicken Adobo
- Chicken, 2 pounds, cut into bite sized pieces
- 5 cloves of garlic
- ¼ cup vinegar
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 cup of water
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Place all ingredients into a pot.
Cook on medium heat for 30 minutes, until meat is cooked.
Remove the bay leaf. Serve over white rice.

Thank you for posting a traditional adobo recipe. We never really measure anything, but you come quite close to what we do at home. I've seen variations that include potatoes, onions and other spices, none of which are as satisfying as the basic version done right.
