It had been a few months since I'd stepped into a Chick-fil-A, so I don't know whether there had been radical shifts taking place over that period of time, whether it was a regional phenomenon, or my eyes had just been opened to what has been going on for a long time. I find the last option the most likely. In any case, I felt like I was walking into a 1990s McDonald's at the pinnacle of their exploding growth and family friendly swagger.
Make no mistake, Chick-fil-A will be in the Top 5 within a few years. KFC who? All the pieces are in place: a delicious product which can justify the slightly higher pricetag and lack of a value menu, spacious, kid-friendly venues to draw them young, and most importantly of all, superb customer service. I haven't had a single fil-A experience that doesn't stand out as being noticeably better and more friendly than other places.
All of this, of course, will come as no surprise to the Chick-filaithful, who are growing in number and fervor, and for some reason, do not suffer the same smear of low class reputation McDonald's, Burger King, and Taco Bell devotees hold. It's okay to say you love Chik-fil-A food; no one hold will this against you. The corporate policy includes closing on Sundays, an especially endearing feature to many Christians and to be sure, the employees. If they maintain a company focus on the right goals, Chick-fil-A is going to shake a lot of things up in the fast food world for years to come.
Where did Chik-fil-A land on last year's top 20?
