The latest 2013 NCAA football live stream and televised game for the bowl schedule will feature one of the biggest stars in college pigskin in what is his last game at the collegiate level. Johnny Manziel and Texas A&M will take the field, to take on a surprising Duke Blue Devils team from the ACC in the Chick-fil-A bowl for 2013. Both teams are closing out the season ranked, and will look for one final victory before regrouping for their next season. The latest televised and live stream NCAA football bowl game on the schedule comes to fans courtesy of the ESPN sports networks.
According to ESPN.com on Dec. 31 in their game report, Duke will go from losing to Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston and the No. 1 overall team in the ACC title game, to playing a bowl game against last year's Heisman winner Johnny Manziel and the No. 20 Aggies. Manziel could become a high draft pick in the upcoming NFL draft, and will likely look for a grand finale performance to further impress scouts.
Duke linebacker David Helton said of facing Winston versus facing Manziel that:
"[Winston] is definitely a scrambler as well, but he's not as much of a scrambler as Manziel is. Manziel is built on scrambling. ... He likes to sit back there and kind of make magic happen, whereas Winston is more of a bigger guy and he likes to sit in the pocket a little bit more than Manziel does. Different mindsets for both of them."
Manziel could close out his career with 4,000 yards passing for the season, as he currently has racked up 3,732 yards and 33 touchdowns on 270-for-391 completed passes. He's also the team's leading rusher with 133 carries for 686 yards and 8 touchdowns. While he's only a sophomore, many analysts and fans expect that Manziel will be done with college ball as of the end of this game, and off to the pro football league, where his teammate, offensive tackle Jake Matthews, is also expected to be among the top 10 draft picks. The FanSided site reported on Dec. 30 that Matthews could go as early as second, and Manziel could land at the No.8 spot for a team such as the Minnesota Vikings.
For Duke, this past campaign was what many individuals have called a "breakout" season for them based on their high level of success in the conference. Their big wins included several upsets including then-No.14 Viginia Tech and then-No.23 Miami (FL). The Blue Devils only lost three games all season, including early season back-to-backs against Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh, as well as the Dec. 7 ACC title game against the Seminoles. For their season, Duke was led by quarterback Anthony Boone with 177-of-277 completed passes for 1,833 yards and 10 touchdowns, but Brandon Cornette also added in 90-for-145 completed passes for another 1,200 yards and 13 touchdowns. Neither has the name or skills of Johnny Manziel, but both had noteworthy seasons and contributions to the Blue Devils' success over the 2013 season.
As many people might expect, odds makers are giving the edge tonight to Manziel and A&M, as they are currently favored to win by as many as 13 1/2 points over Duke in Georgia. The over/under total points bet is set at around 75 to 76 1/2 points at various sports books. Weather will be a non-factor since this game is to be played inside a dome stadium.
Tuesday night's Chick-fil-A Bowl 2013 edition between Duke and Texas A&M has a scheduled start time of 8 p.m. EST. This game will be played at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia, and featured for cable or satellite TV viewers on ESPN.
