Mount Prospect golden boy, Lee Dewyze, is getting ready for a whirlwind visit today. After securing himself a place in the top 3 of American Idol on Wednesday night, Dewyze is now back in Chicago to thank his fans and get a taste of what Chicago is like now that he's on the verge of becoming Idol's newest star.
As has been the case for years, the contestants who reach the top 3 on the singing competition have the opportunity to go back to their hometown, perform and mingle with some of their fans. Casey James and Crystal Bowersox are the two other contestants who will be in their respective home bases today.
Dewyze may be happy that he's coming home, but there will be no time to rest. His schedule consists of interviews that include television (Good Day Chicago) and radio (101.9 The Mix and Q101). He is also expected to appear at the AT&T store in Skokie, IL. He will throw out the first pitch in today's Chicago Cubs game and a parade is going to be held in his hometown.
In addition to all of those stops, Dewyze will also do what he does best: perform. He will be singing three songs at Arlington Park tonight and according to the Chicago Sun-Times, the 30,000 ticket event sold out in 12 minutes.
Lee Dewyze's star is definitely rising, so tune into Idol this week on Tuesday and Wednesday to see footage from his time in Chicago and whether he makes it to the final two!

That's a shame. He had the least girly haircut of all the dudes.
