Chicago suburbanite Jeff Mauro to compete in Food Network Star finale

Jeff Mauro may pronounce “Illinois” with an “s,” but that doesn’t make him less of a Chicagoan. Well, even though he’s from the suburb of Elmwood Park. After all, he does know his Chicago food.

Throughout season seven of Food Network Star, as the sandwich king, he’s respected his roots and made things such as an Italian beef sandwich.

Jeff Mauro has officially survived 11 episodes of the food reality TV show, and he’s hoping to survive one more and win it all. On Sunday, August 14, he’s competing against Susie Jimenez and Vic ‘Vegas’ Moea for the top prize.

He has a lot going for him. The judges love him, particularly Susie Fogelson, who in recent weeks has called him sexy. He’s also been winning over guest judges, like during the roast, when comedians didn’t really critique him so much as laugh along with him.

Jeff Mauro has been winning so many challenges, he has the momentum to win it all.

Do you think the Sandwich King will take the top prize on Food Network Star and win his own show?
