The First Annual Chicago South Asian Film Festival takes place this weekend, October 2-3, at Columbia College and Chicago Cultural Center.
This event seeks to promote South Asian culture throughout the Chicago area by showcasing both filmmakers of South Asian descent and films that represent the perspectives of South Asians who have chosen to make the U.S. their home.
Seven films will be shown at Columbia College’s Film Row Cinema on Saturday and Sunday. The cost is $11 per film or $35 for a pass good for all films all weekend. Four select films will also be screened at Chicago Cultural Center on Saturday, and admission is free for those films. Screenings for this festival include feature films, shorts, and documentaries in a variety of genres. View the selection of films and the location and time for each film.
