Chicago's 'Superjock' Larry Lujack dies at 73

The Chicago Tribune and The Chicago Sun Times are reporting on the passing of legendary Chicago DJ Larry Lujack. He was known to listeners by many nick names. "Superjock" and "Uncle Lar" are a couple of those.

Reports indicate that Lujack died Wednesday in New Mexico from cancer at the age of 73.

The overnight radio hosts on WGN AM were talking about Lujack. They had a caller phone in with his real last name, "Blankenburg." They also talked to Lujack's former co-worker John "Records" Landecker.

Lujack had lots of fans on all his stations, especially Chicago's WLS. He was known for his funny features, such as 'Animal Stories" and the "Klunk Letter of the Day."
