Just a handful of events for the weekend from Neuter Day at the Fox Valley Animal Welfare League to Dinner night at Culvers in Plainfield and a vaccination clinic in Joliet. It’s also a good weekend to learn about feral cats and puppy mills on the pet scene.

Fox Valley Animal Welfare League's Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic is offering $5 neuter surgeries for male cats. Call 630-800-2254 for an appointment.
Stop by Culvers in Plainfield for dinner and family night from 5 to 8 p.m. and help out All Those Left Behind Animal Rescue at the same time. Go to this site and print out a flier to present when you eat at Culvers at 1500 South Route 59 in Plainfield.
Saturday, March 2
Stop by Timberline Animal Hospital at 950 Northeast Frontage Road in Joliet between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. for a vaccination clinic. Dog House Humane Group will be on hand to collect wish list items and selling some of their promotional items.
Spay and Stay will host a feral cat caretakers meeting from 10 a.m. until noon at Mundelein High School. Some of the topics for the quarterly meeting trapping tips, socializing kittens, and resource sharing. CAPS will be hosting a protest outside The Puppy Parlor on Ogden and Main in Lisle from 1 to 3 p.m. This store is one of those recently highlighted by the Humane Society of the United States for not only purchasing puppies from puppy mills but for running their own mill in the back room. The organization will be holding peaceful protests every Saturday in January from 1 to 3 p.m.
