There’s no better way to start St. Patrick’s Day (and serious drinkers say any day) than with a traditional Irish Coffee. At Bar Novo in the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel, however, the classic concoction gets taken to the next level with their Irish Ginger Coffee cocktail.
Brian Jaymont, Director of Restaurants, explains that the addition of Two Gingers Whiskey offers the perfect contrast to bold espresso. “The combination of ginger spice in the whiskey with the rich notes of the coffee creates a depth of flavors."
To make this coffee creation at home, Jaymont starts by combining one part Two Gingers Whiskey with freshly brewed coffee and adds almond syrup to add a hint of sweetness. Top off the concoction with a dollop of Bailey’s whipped cream and you have the perfect libation to get in the St. Paddy’s Day spirit.
