The migration of content to digital mediums has prompted many businesses to rethink their business models. Some businesses restructure their balance sheets and operations to survive, while others turn to Chapter 11.
The group of panelists will provide insights on the past and continuing challenges in the media and entertainment sectors, along with lessons learned executing reorganizations.
The panel will identify future opportunities for investors and restructuring professionals.
Panelists
Jim McDonough, Senior Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel and Secretary of Sun-Times Media Holdings, LLC. He became the Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of the Company on December 29, 2006 and Chief Administrative Officer in January 2009.
Barbara Cohen, President of Kannon Consulting, A Chicago-based marketing and strategy consulting firm. Barbara serves clients in a range of industries focusing on identifying revenue growth opportunities. Media and technology clients have included Yahoo!, Tribune Company, Chicago Public Media, Hearst Corporation, Sun-Times, Washington Post, cars.com, AT&T, Gannett among others.
Charles DelGrande, Senior Managing Director of McGladrey Capital Marketsand head of the firm's Technology, Media, Entertainment and Gaming group. He has more than 25 years of investment banking, eBusiness, Technology and media industry experience, including venturing, investment and business development.
Michael Messersmith, Partner of Kaye Scholer LLP. He represents lenders, bondholders, agents, indenture trustees, hedge funds and other financial institutions, as well as borrowers, in distressed situations, workouts and bankruptcy proceedings throughout the United States.
Moderator
Kenneth R. Yager II, Principal at MorrisAnderson. He has nearly two decades of executive leadership experience in stakeholder communication. Ken regularly takes on P&L and risk-management responsibility for cash-constrained companies in growth, leveraged-buyout and turnaround situations.
